The Obvious Secret of Economic Recession

I cannot believe the acute attempts at self-preservation that seems to be affecting the criminals at the top of the economic food chain.

Every man in the street knows that you cannot continue to take out loans to pay off debts forever.  Sooner or later, you have to face up to reality.  Or reality will come and face you – whether you want it to or not.

The stock markets this week are jumping all over the place due to “fears” of an economic recession.  Greece “may” default on it’s debt repayments.  Where have these “analysts” been hiding the last few years?  What have they been looking at?  What kind of self-delusion is it that can prevent them from seeing the truly obvious?

The global economy has been shot in the head by a relatively few people who either failed to understand, or worse, intentionally ignored the basic principles of “exchange” that sit behind any workable economic system that we could possibly invent.

The insanity is that there are still attempts to avert the inevitable by continuing more insanity.  If I want my car fixed, I call a motor mechanic.  If I need my fence fixed, I call someone who is an expert on the building and erection of fences.  If I want to hear hours of mindless drivel about topics they have no practical knowledge of whatsoever, I call for a politician.

If I want to fix the economy of a country and make sure that the money coming IN (income) is more than the money going OUT (bills), and that people are getting more of the money they make and are able to enjoy life at the same time, I will call my mother.  She will remind me about planning ahead, working to a budget, saving money by putting some away every week in the spare teapot or biscuit tin, and making very sure that I don’t spend the money until it’s actually in the bank.

The idiots at the top of the political and economic food chain at this point in time seem to think that money is a product that you can manipulate.  It isn’t.  Money is an idea that is based on the principle of “Exchange”.

The idea of barter, or “I will give you a loaf of bread, if you give me 3 eggs, or an hour of your time to help me grind the wheat into flour”.

The idea of money as coins or bits of paper only came about as a medium of exchange, as it could represent the bread, or the eggs, or the time worked – and it’s a lot easier to carry around.

Once some criminal came up with the idea that you could “make money” by manipulating the idea of money itself, without the money physically representing something in the real world, we were doomed to eventually be in the situation we find ourselves in today.

Of course, some people will say that looking at an economy this way is too simplistic.  Personally, I think that the idea of exchange is so simple that people have just overlooked it completely.

For example, the people today think that the economic problems we all face should be resolved by “the government”.  What a strange idea.  The government doesn’t create any money through production.  Never did, and never will.  The government of any country should exist only for the purpose of ensuring fair and equitable dealings between its citizens, and their safety.
